Dream comes true for Stewie

Stewie grabbed first prize in the over 40s category.

Pride and excitement beamed out of 73-year-old natural body builder, Stewie Spence who bagged top spot in the INBA Naturals Body Building Show at the Durban High School on Saturday, 24 August.

Stewie grabbed first prize in the over 40s category. He is set to jet off to Australia, where he will represent South Africa in a naturals body building show.

Speaking to the SUN, the elated body builder said he did not expect to win.  “Being almost 30 years senior to the oldest body builder in the category was crazy to me.  I never expected to win.  I thought the judges were looking for something else.”

The avid gardener has never travelled aboard and can not be more thrilled.

“The community’s support was unbelievable.  I am living my dream.   This whole experience is unreal to me,” he added.
