Suspect in Umkomaas couple’s murder refuses bail
The couple was brutally murdered in their Willow Glen home on Thursday, 1 August.
The 37-year-old suspect, who was arrested for the double murder of Umkomaas couple, Sathiaseelan and Savathri Pillay, chose not to apply for bail at the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court, earlier today. Â The suspect, Shalin Ganesh was remanded in custody.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Jace Govender said, “The Umkomaas community came out in their numbers to support the family.  There was a crowd of about 350 people and we thank everyone who assisted.”
