WATCH: Family appeals for public’s continued support during bail application

The 37-year-old suspect is set to appear in the Scottburgh Magistrate's Court for his formal bail application on Monday, 12 August.

The close knit family of the elderly Umkomaas couple, Sathiaseelan and Savathri Pillay, who were both murdered in their home on Thursday, 1 August, is appealing to the public to come out in their numbers for the suspect’s formal bail application.

The 37-year-old suspect is set to appear in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court for his formal bail application on Monday, 12 August at 8.30am.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Jace Govender, who thanked members of the public for their assistance during the difficult time said, “My family is appealing to residents who can make themselves available to come to the court to support our family.  We once again thank all those who assisted us.”
