Laerskool Roodekrans learners from Roodepoort hear Clean Surf Project’s message

The fun clean-up was followed by an informative presentation, highlighting the negative impact on marine life, caused by plastic pollution.

CLEAN Surf Project educated 89 learners from Laerskool Roodekrans about the ocean and the importance of protecting it, on Monday, 8 July during their school tour stay at ATKV Natalia Resort.

Out the bus, bags put aside, a quick change from long pants, jerseys and takkies to baggies, shirts and flops and off to the beach they went to collect litter.

“A whopping 201kg of rubbish was removed by the learners, after having spent only one hour on the beach. A big thumbs to all boys, girls and teachers from Laerskool Roodekrans as well as tour guides from Outdoor Environmental Education Africa Tours,” said Romy Wenzel.
