Legend Sean ‘Roady’ Brydon will be sorely missed

Sean bravely fought cancer for over a year, but peacefully succumbed to the illness.

SEAN Brydon, fondly called ‘Roady’ by those who knew and adored him, died on Thursday night, 4 July in the comfort of his home.

Sean bravely fought cancer for over a year, but peacefully succumbed to the weak state of his body.

A bright mind and compassionate heart, Sean earned a special place in the hearts of all those who he met. He completed his school through Doon Heights Primary and then Kingsway High School.

An avid musician, Sean played base guitar for iconic band Explosion, that he and a group of his friends started up once out of school. On the closing of that chapter, he then travelled abroad to Thailand where for a time he taught English as a foreign language, while submerging himself in the humble culture.

Returning from Asia and busying himself with a job at a local coffee shop, Sean grew increasingly enthusiastic about coffee. His passion for coffee grew even more while working at Colombo where he learned to roast. In no time he and close friend, Shivy Bissoon, started up a mobile coffee business, The Steaming Bean. Going from success to success, the van is still offering up delicious brews at the iconic Shongweni Market every Saturday.

Roady will be sorely missed by family, friends and those who merely crossed his path, but his kind-hearted legacy and passionate outlook on life will live on for lifetimes to come.
