Sappi Scottburgh MTB and Trail Run returns

The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 July.

The KZN South Coast can expect a bumper crowd when the 11th edition of the popular Sappi Scottburgh MTB and Trail Run weekend starts on Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 July. The Saturday programme will focus on trail running, with a big field expected to support the funky pants trail runs, offering distances of 22km, 12km and 5km.

On Sunday the well-established 45km Sappi Scottburgh MTB race will form the second race of the South Coast series and race seven of the Quattro ROAG series. The Wardkiss 28km race and 10km family fun ride ensures that the weekend is accessible to riders of all ages and abilities. The Sappi Scottburgh MTB Race will once again raise money for the Cycling For Mobility cause.

The trail runs start and finish at Scottburgh Main Beach. The 22km starts at 8am; 12km at 8.15am; and 5km at 8.30am. Registration is on the Saturday from 6.30am to 7.45am at Scottburgh Lifesaving Club clubhouse. Entries can be done online at https://www.roag.co.za/online-entries.aspx?EventID=2355. The 45km Sappi Scottburgh MTB race starts at 8.30am (pre-entry – R160); Wardkiss 28km Race at 8.45am (pre-entry – R120); Wardkiss 10km Family Fun Ride at 9am (pre-entry – R50).
