Amanzimtoti crime round-up

CCPO nabbed one of the men they suspect is responsible for the robberies in the Beach Road and Toti promenade area.

The swift action of an armed response officer and the police led to the arrest of a suspect who attempted to break into a vehicle in Amanzimtoti on Friday, 21 June.

Blue Security tactical ambassador, Eugene Engelbrecht, said they received information from the CCPO that a vehicle was being broken into in Elcock Rock at about 6.30am. The officer found the suspect trying to break into the vehicle with a sharpened Allen key and he was handed over to Toti SAPS.

Armed robbery suspect nabbed

Later that day the CCPO  nabbed one of the men they suspected to be responsible for the armed robberies in the Beach Road and Toti promenade area. “We got a call from the detectives to look out for him, as there was a warrant of arrest out for him,” said Snodey.

At about midday Triple M spotted him in Bernadotte Street. He was apprehended and taken to Toti SAPS.

Hijacked vehicle recovered

On Wednesday, 19 June a hijacked vehicle was recovered. The vehicle, which had been reported as hijacked in Montclair, was pulled over by the police with support from Blue Security and CCPO officers in Rosslyn Road in Amanzimtoti. The vehicle and driver were taken to the Amanzimtoti police station for investigation.

Wanted suspects arrested

On Thursday, 20 June the CCPO and Blue Security helped put another two thugs behind bars. “After detectives gave us photos and names of three wanted suspects, Triple M, his crewman Mambo Nhlanhla, supervisor, Logan Naidoo, two CCPO foot patrollers and myself managed to find two of the three who were wanted for offences ranging from house breaking, shop lifting to drugs.” The two suspects were handed to Toti SAPS.
