KZN Sharks Board’s acting head of operations, Greg Thompson, explained that it was well-known predators of the shoals spotted, not actually the shoals, yet.

“There was some sardine related activity at Port Edward on Sunday morning, 23 June. In other words, predators which feed on sardines. There was no actual shoals of sardines spotted. We are all hoping that this is the start for KZN but there are no guarantees when it comes to sardines. We look forward to some netting taking place in KZN soon,” he said.
