Magic market day for 21 Club

Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee member by Friday, 21 June.

On the Mother’s Day market members were invited to decorate their own tables using animal print overlays, green or orange serviettes within an African theme.

Lords and Legends’ Greg Bradfield and Garth Lamprecht had the difficult task of judging the stunning, creative centre pieces. Congratulations to Eileen Smith and Jackie Holdrick who secured their table sherry for Christmas in July. Barbara Lane was highly commended for her beautiful décor and especially for having her table completed before the committee arrived to set up.

Mothers everywhere were saluted, but in keeping with the theme, the décor emphasised wild animals and their young. Instead of a speaker or entertainment, members were treated to an exciting array of shopping experiences. Those with an eye for bargains were spoilt for choice. Cookies, jams, marmalades and everybody’s favourite pickles tempted many. Knitted, crocheted and sewn articles caught the eye along with beautiful handmade cards and decorated fabric-covered notebooks. Creams and cosmetics and lovely Honey jewellery were also on show and for sale.

Many thanks to the many talented members who added value to the popular annual market day as well as to Golda Smyly for coordinating. At the next meeting which takes place on Wednesday, 26 June, the club will host a local talented young singer, Cameron Hood, at its ‘heartstrings’ luncheon hosted at the Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm.

The décor colours are black and white with a touch of red. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee member by Friday, 21 June. Guests, who must be invited by a member, will be accommodated if there is space. Remember to bring a grocery item for Lions Club.
