Clean-up assistance needed

Refrain from un-co-ordinated clean-ups and rather liaise with any of the groups for a combined strategy.

Clean-ups of Amanzimtoti’s storm-hit beaches will begin with the four main bathing beaches – Toti, Baggies, Winkle and Pipeline. That’s according to ward 97 councillor, André Beetge, who urged residents to refrain from un-co-ordinated clean-ups and rather liaise with any of the groups for a combined strategy.

“I have spoken to the beach manager, Jayce Govender, who said they will deploy additional vehicles and personnel on the weekend. We need assistance with manpower everywhere. Bags and the disposal of will be done by beach management.”

If you are keen to lend a hand, call Cllr Beetge on 082-718-8137, Jayce on 074-562-4888, Sapphire Coast Tourism chairman, Romy Wenzel on 083-753-6468 or Clean Surf Project’s Denzil van der Westhuizen on 082-802-3353.
