Cat theft rife in Doonheights

Last night my neighbour told me two weeks ago she saw a woman walk around our property, calling my cat.

EDITOR- This warning is for any Doonheights pet owner, whether of dogs of cats.

We hear so many times about pets going missing, especially dogs.

Social media has a lot of footage showing how people steal them. I have seen for a while now that more cats are going missing. I always thought our cats don’t go to strangers, and therefore they’re safe. I try to keep them out of the road, as people think our street is a race track.

Last night my neighbour told me two weeks ago she saw a woman walk around our property, calling my cat. She went to the bedroom window and at that moment, she saw her holding a leash in one hand and pulling our smaller cat by the head. Our little one tried to pull away.

She then screamed at her and asked her what was she doing and told her to let our cat go. Recently we lost our one boy on the ‘race track’ and my friend did not want to upset me more by telling me this.

I want to warn everyone to be aware. If you know your neighbour is not at home and you see a woman walking around, calling cats – chase her, call the cops and do something. Unfortunately, people have to work and we leave our furbabies at home thinking they are safe, but sadly they are not.

CONCERNED FURRY PARENTS
