Men detained for attempted car theft

The swift response from security personnel lead to the arrest of the two men.

Two would-be car thieves were nabbed when an observant member of the public noticed them behaving suspiciously next to a parked car in Beach Road, Amanzimtoti on Wednesday morning, 9 January just after 10am.

CCPO committee member, George Snodey, said, “When the resident approached the men, it looked like they were trying to steal the car or the radio from the car. The Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) received a report that suspects were being chased and with assistance from Metro Police, Metro law enforcement, Blue Security, ET Rapid Response and beach security, the two men were caught and detained.”
