Pretty in pink AGM for 21 Club

The members wore every imaginable shade of pink in support of breast cancer awareness month.

THERE was a great turnout of over 80 for 21 Club’s AGM luncheon which took place on Wednesday, 24 October.

The tables featured attractive pink flower arrangements and the members wore every imaginable shade of pink in support of breast cancer awareness month.

Lords and Legends played the game and topped off the tasty lamb roast main with a club favourite, pink strawberry cheesecake.

The existing committee of Gwyn McLeod (president), Jenny Perkins (treasurer/vice president), Sharon Hofmann (secretary), Golda Smyly and recently co-opted member, Jill Jones (co-ordinators) was re-elected. With no meal price increases and with the consistently high standard of food, as well as its centrality and safety, Lords and Legends was unanimously accepted as the venue for 2019. Great appreciation was expressed to the managers.

The club’s continued support of Kingsburgh Lions Club by contributing grocery items each month was also an unanimous decision. Members enjoyed competing in a fun music trivia table competition. All music played included a girl’s name. While three tables got all the names, only one table tumbled to the fact that all of these were the first names of 21 Club members and won the prizes. Once again, Pat Andersson is lucky that what happens at 21 Club, stays at 21 Club. Many thanks to the Lions Club of for spoiling the members with chocolates.

The Christmas luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 28 November at the Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm. Members are decorating their own tables so the club looks forward to a Christmas wonderland.

The festive traditional luncheon cost is unchanged from last year at R120 but members pay only R110 as the balance is sponsored by the club. Entertainment will be provided by Mervyn Bartholomew so dress for a party. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee member by Friday, 23 November. Guests, who must be invited by a member, can only be accommodated if there is space. Remember to take a grocery item for Kingsburgh Lions Club.
