Weather alert: KZN disaster management teams on standby
Officials are monitoring the situation, especially in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.
KwaZulu-Natal disaster management teams have been placed on standby following a KZN weather alert. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said residents in Amajuba, uThukela, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Impendle, uMngeni, Mpofana, Umzimkhulu and the greater Kokstad should brace themselves for the possibility of hail and localised flooding.
Officials are monitoring the situation, especially in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.

The department has been in contact with several municipalities – including Amajuba, uThukela, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Impendla and the greater Kokstad area, among others – to ensure they are properly prepared.
Amanzimtoti and surrounds are not expected to be affected by it. Expect cooler cloudy conditions today (Friday) and tonight with a forecast of 6mm of rain. On Saturday the temperature drops to a chilly 19 degrees with just 2mm of rain expected. On Sunday expect cloudy conditions but no rain.
