Property bargains of under R1 million in Gauteng

Instead of listing your property for sale in Scottburgh, try and hunt for some property market bargains. A recent list from Private Property pulled from data on their site in April showed that there were 10 suburbs in Gauteng that boasted average house prices of less than R1 million.

Finding a bargain in the property market is not as easy nowadays, but there is still opportunity to add to your property portfolio without having to list your property for sale in Scottburgh. In a recent listing by Private Property, they revealed 10 suburbs in Gauteng that had an average price of under R1 million for a house.

This may have been a common option many years back, but nowadays you are lucky to find flats that aren’t reaching toward a six figure price. Should you be looking to invest but want to start with a property that is not going to break the bank, then it might be worth checking out some of the following suburbs:

Midrand

Midrand owns a prime location right between Johannesburg and Pretoria, making it an ideal place for people who may travel regularly between the two cities for business. Private Property listed three separate suburbs in this area that had an average house price of less than R1 million in April this year, namely Noordwyk, Halfway Gardens and Erand Gardens.

Roodepoort

The West Rand of Johannesburg has become increasingly popular in recent times. Improved infrastructure, top amenities and easy access to other parts of Gauteng has seen interest soar. The suburbs of Witpoortjie and Radiokop both offer excellent residential property options, with Witpoortjie’s average Median Asking Price being just R895 000.

Johannesburg South

Offering easy access to the Johannesburg CBD as well as the East Rand, there are some gems to find in this area. Linmeyer is among the higher priced suburbs, with an average price of R950 000 but the most affordable suburb on the list is also based here, with Winchester Hills houses having had an average asking price of R850 000

Randburg and Ferndale

Heading towards some of the more affluent parts of Johannesburg, Ferndale was showing excellent value for money with an asking price of R998 000. This convenient location puts you close to a number of major commercial hubs in the province.

North Riding to Lanseria

A part of Johannesburg that has seen immense development in recent years, you may just uncover a real bargain in this space. Northwold and Jackal Creek both offered up the opportunity to get a house for under R1 million.the opportunity to get a house for under R1 million.
