Armed robber attacks pedestrian in Kingsway

Amanzimtoti SAPS attended the scene and arrested the suspect.

Blue Security reported that police arrested an armed robber after he stabbed a pedestrian during an attempted mugging in Kingsway at about 3.50pm on Saturday, 8 September.

“The suspect asked the pedestrian for a cigarette and after he gave him one, he stabbed the victim in his arm and demanded cash before fleeing on foot. The suspect then attacked another pedestrian, hitting him in the face. The victim declined medical treatment,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.

Amanzimtoti SAPS attended the scene and arrested the suspect.

Mathios added that a resident was mugged after he arrived home at about 2am on Sunday morning, 9 September and walked down his driveway in Dingwall Road to close his gate. “A suspect accosted him at the gate and mugged him of an undisclosed amount of cash. The resident put up a fight and sustained minor scratches during the incident. The suspect fled the scene on foot,” said Mathios.
