Plans in progress for annual hospice charity fair

Applicants are invited to book their food stalls and general consumer stalls by no later than 31 October.

In an effort to continue growing and improving its annual charity fair, Khanya Hospice invites applications from stall holders and entertainers for this year’s event on 30 November and 1 and 2 December.

The fair takes place at the DSB Grounds in Craigieburn. For a full list of available stalls and prices, call Khanya Hospice on 039-973-1783 or email hospice@scottnet.co.za. “Applicants are invited to book their food stalls and general consumer stalls by no later than 31 October,” said Khanya Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald.

“One plug point will be supplied and if you need more, you will be charged an additional R300 per plug. Unfortunately no late entries will be accepted.” To book a stall, call Preeth Singh on 082-337-7217 or contact Khanya Hospice. “All stalls must be paid for in full by 4 November, with no exceptions.

We would like to have ‘show and tell’ stalls as well, such as baking, cooking or art demonstrations and so on,” said Neil.

One of the fair’s more popular drawcards every year is the Khanya’s Got Talent performing arts competition. All groups and individuals with special and undiscovered talent who wish to showcase their talent are invited to apply, as well as confident oldies for the Glamorous Gran and Gramps pageant. Local artists and performers who wish to feature on the programme can call Sandesh Singh on 074-349-7943 or Cllr Jane Naidoo on 078-154-9193.

The fair will offer loads of good entertainment, including Eddie’s Fun Fair, daily shows on stage, a show and shine car show on the Saturday, plus coverage from Radio Hindvani. The lucky ticket draw for the brand-new car will take place on Sunday, 3 December at 5pm at the grounds. For more information or general enquiries, call Neil on 083-597-8985.
