Children explore creativity at Amanzimtoti library

One of the goals of the initiative was to promote a love and value of reading and support literacy and learning.

Local children were spoilt with fun-filled activities at Amanzimtoti library during the school holidays. “The library hosted holiday craft activities for school children aged between five and 12-years-old from 25 June to 5 July and we had a very good turn-out,” said Amanzimtoti librarian, Slie Mosia.

“The children were provided with materials for the activities from the library and all our staff members took turns to do activities with them.”

Slie said the main aim of the activities is for children to enjoy themselves during the holidays, to encourage youngsters to become members of the library, improve their listening skills, promote a love and value of reading, and support literacy and learning.
