Heartbroken cat owner offers reward for information on missing cats

"Whoever is doing this, you can stop now – you’ve ripped my heart out," - distraught cat owner.

A Winklespruit cat lover is distraught after four of her feline babies went missing in five days. Natasha Clarke (44), who lives in Coastline Crescent Gardens in Uitsig Road, said she also lost a cat in January and she fears someone is targeting her as she is a cat lover.

“My cats are all rescues that have been spayed and neutered,” she said. “I can’t have children, so my cats were like my children. Whoever is doing this, you can stop now – you’ve ripped my heart out. I have lost all my babies since Sunday.”

Natasha has been catching feral and stray cats in her area for years and taking them to the SPCA. “Two cats were found poisoned in our area about two years ago and one of my cats was dumped far away and it died of pneumonia trying to find its way home. I have heard of two other people with missing cats in our complex recently.

“I can understand people being annoyed with the stray cats fighting in the complex but my cats were tame and sprayed. If they had a problem with my cats, why didn’t they approach me or complain to the body corporate? I just want to make people aware of what is going on.”

Stoney Bear went missing on Sunday, 17 June, the second of Natasha’s cats that vanished last week.

Natasha said the one remaining cat in the complex cowered away when she approached him, which is unusual. She has also noticed the complex’s resident feral has got a cut on her leg like she had been caught in a trap but escaped. She is so distraught over her missing babies, she is offering a reward for any information that will help her find the perpetrator. Call her on 083-414-9738.
