Pupils urged to be cautious when attending extra school lessons

Response officers conducted a search for the mugger but no arrest was made.

Pupils attending extra lessons at schools after hours and on weekends in Isipingo are urged to be wary and walk in groups. This warning comes after a girl was mugged for her cellphone.

Alpha Alarms reported the mugger came out of dense bushes and grabbed the girl’s cellphone in the vicinity of a high school on Saturday, 12 May. It is believed the mugger pretended to be walking on a pathway when he suddenly grabbed the pupil’s hand and snatched the cellphone before fleeing.

Alpha Alarms response officers conducted a search for the mugger but no arrest was made.

Pupils are urged not to carry valuables during those times and always walk in groups.
