The Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) once again warns Toti residents to beware of criminals fishing goods and keys out of windows.

“We have also had four or five incidents where windows have been smashed in the St Winifreds area and laptops and cellphones grabbed,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey. “One of the guys who is known for this has recently been released from jail and we have spotted him in the area. Rather hide your property out of the line of sight of opportunistic criminals.”

A Queens Terrace home owner had their stolen bicycle returned to them two months after it was stolen. This after an alert CCPO foot patrol guard spotted the thief riding the bicycle in Inyoni Crescent, Amanzimtoti on Tuesday afternoon, 10 April.
“The guard tried to stop him but he rode off in the direction of Beach Road,” said Snodey. With assistance from Blue Security and the Metro Police K9 unit, the CCPO found the bicycle dumped on Toti promenade and arrested the thief hiding in the bushes. A photo of the bicycle was circulated on social media and the owner came forward to claim it.
Residents are asked to note the increase in the CCPO’s monthly fee is due to the 1% increase in VAT.
