Umbogintwini beach mess cleared by clean-up crew [PHOTOS]

The CSP team and Kuswag School spent hours tackling the mess

THE Clean Surf Project (CSP) beach clean-up at the beach in front of Amanzimtoti Golf Course on Saturday, 24 March was hailed a great success with good company and loads of rubbish collected.

The CSP team and Kuswag School spent hours tackling the mess on the beachfront and riverside.

Sapphire Coast Tourism’s Romy Wenzel said it was scary to see the mounds of nappies, plastic bottles, variety of shoes and broken glass spoiling the beaches.

“There is still more work to be done, and it is hoped that more people and schools will come on board in April after the holidays,” said Romy.

Grateful thanks were extended to Giselle’s Kitchen for providing snacks for the hungry cleaners.
