Violent invasions ‘drive home the need for CCPO’

Crime is not going away, we need to all be part of the CCPO initiative.

A Karridale Drive home owner was robbed of a laptop, money, cellphones and his Toyota Conquest during a home invasion on Monday afternoon, 12 March.

Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) committee member, George Snodey does not believe the Shulton Park robbers are linked to the home invasion which took place in Athlone Park later that night. “These guys came on foot and they managed to sneak through an open door, catching the home owner on his couch and unprepared,” said Snodey.

“A lot of times during these situations people say, “We heard the dogs barking but thought nothing of it, because they always bark”. If your dogs are barking, go and have a look. If they bark all day and night at nothing in particular, stop them, so you know that when they bark, you need to check it out. Most dogs are easily trained, you just have to make the effort.
