Donations flow in for local charities at festive fundraiser

Amanzimtoti SPCA and Operation Bobbi Bear both benefited from event.

THE annual Carols by Candlelight fundraiser and Christmas Market held at Sweetwaters Church on Saturday, 16 December saw the Amanzimtoti SPCA and Operation Bobbi Bear receive generous donations of money and food from the community.

To join the event, guests were requested to donate pet food for the local SPCA or make a cash donation.

Further cash donations to the shelter were made at the SPCA stall which was set up within the Christmas market. The carol service followed later on in the evening, where all offerings were split between the Amanzimtoti SPCA and Operation Bobbi Bear.

Sweetwaters Church thanked the community for supporting the evening and contributing toward the offering. The market was a great success with many stalls, fun rides and inflatables for the children.

Amanzimtoti SPCA thanked Pastor Ryan and Tammy Laubscher from Sweetwaters Church for the invitation to be part of the annual event. The shelter extended its gratitude to Pastor Adam Cruikshank and his team, for all their hard work in making the event a success.

“Amanzimtoti SPCA received a collection of pet food from the entrance fee, and the table selling lovely items made R5,198 along with R2,858 received from the shared offerings collected at the carol service,” said SPCA manager, Tracey Girling.

Tracey extended her gratitude to the community for supporting the event.
