Winkle SLC to host KZN Surf Lifesaving Championships this weekend

There will be food and refreshments on sale at the club all weekend.

THE festive season has come and gone, thanks go to all Winklespruit Surf Lifesaving Club (WSLC) members who performed duties over this period which was extremely busy.

The competition season has arrived, and the club hosts the KZN Surf Lifesaving Championships this Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 January.

The seniors will compete on Saturday, with the juniors competing on Sunday. The competition starts around 8am each day and will end in the late afternoon. The public is invited to go down to Winkle Beach and watch some of the top competitors in South Africa, many of whom are world-class, such as Winkle’s own Springbok, Kelly Fell as she competes in a variety of events. There will be food and refreshments on sale at the club all weekend.

Next weekend it will be the turn of the nippers who will compete at the KZN Nipper Championships that will be held in Durban. The nipper squad is currently training hard and some top results are expected. See you on the beach.
