Suspects nabbed in festive season operation

Police recovered a 9mm pistol with 14 rounds of ammunition, house breaking implements, three cellphones and other exhibits in the vehicle.

Two house break-in suspects were nabbed at Arbour Crossing during a SAPS Safer Festive Season Operation on Friday, 3 November.

Umlazi SAPS members spotted a red Mini Cooper parked on the side of the N2 northbound with two different registration plates.

When police stopped next to it, the men sped off and took the Moss Kolnick on-ramp. They passed Galleria, but were cornered by Arbour Crossing by Toti SAPS, Umlazi k9 and ET Rapid Response.

When police intercepted the vehicle, the men opened fire at police officials and police retaliated. No one was injured during the shooting.
