ER24 paramedics arrived a while later and found the man locked inside his home. After assessing him, they transported the man to a nearby hospital.

Manager at the Amanzimtoti SPCA, Tracey Girling was informed and recommended the afflicted family open a case.
Details are sketchy, but it is understood that the dog was put down by a relative. The update will clarify this.

“The dog’s body will be fetched today and taken to the vet to test whether the dog had rabies,” she said. “There has been an incident in the past where the dog has escaped the yard and threatened a passer-by.”

This attack is being further investigated. More updates to follow.
