KENMONT School prefects Caitlin Gray (20) of Amanzimtoti and Dylan Fouche (18) of Durban beam with pride after being elected as this year’s deputy head girl and head boy respectively.
The duo look forward to writing their finals, as well as tackling all that follows the completion of their school career.

Dylan has attended Kenmont since grade 1 and Caitlin since grade 4. The duo have enjoyed their years at the school and made the most of every opportunity that came their way.

The final assembly held on Friday, 20 October saw the high achievers awarded academic awards as well as head prefect positions.
Newly appointed deputy head girl, Caitlin dislikes maths but surprised herself by achieving a merit in the daunting subject. Her favourite subjects are English and life orientation. She placed first in the grade for the latter.
Newly appointed head boy, Dylan excels in academics and was named dux after placing first in the grade overall.

“Our newly appointed positions came as a shock to both of us. We’re really happy to have been selected,” admitted Caitlin. The duo were chosen out of a prefect body of 16 prefects, who were elected at the beginning of the year.

Both scholars feel more than ready for next week, when their daunting final exams begin. “We’re certain they’re going to be easier than the trials,” they agreed.

Both are intent on following their dreams and passionate about their plans for the future.

“I will either study multimedia at Vega College or train to be a chef at the International Hotel School,” said Caitlin. Dylan is interested in all things technological, and will study IT engineering through iStudent Academy.

The academics thank their English teacher, Charles Kusner who instilled a sense of love for the subject and made their school days brim with fond memories.

“We’re finally done,” they cheered. The scholars wish all their fellow matrics the best for the upcoming finals.
