World Animal Week donations buoy Amanzimtoti SPCA

The collections on Saturday, 7 October saw a whopping amount of money raised and as well as pet food donated to the Toti SPCA.

WORLD Animal Week runs from 4 until 10 October, and this year Amanzimtoti SPCA enabled the public to donate to the local animal shelter at various local shopping centres.

The collections on Saturday, 7 October saw a whopping amount of money raised and as well as pet food donated to the Toti SPCA.

Sadly: #DurbanStorm wreaks havoc at Amanzimtoti SPCA

Volunteers sacrificed their Saturday from 9am to 2pm to collect money on behalf of Amanzimtoti SPCA at Pick n Pay Arbour Crossing, Seadoone Mall and Pick n Pay Kingsburgh.

“A few volunteers took down their own dogs to help with the collection,” said Michelle Hannan of the Toti SPCA. This helped to remind the public exactly where the small change they give, goes to.

Volunteer Terry Keegan and his SPCA adopted dog, Winter receive a donation from Warren Freese during World Animal Week.

The SPCA thanked everyone who donated. The money and food collected will aid the local shelter as it keeps the animals off the street, out of harm’s way, fed and taken care of while they try to re-home them with loving families.

“Toti SPCA also thanks our loyal volunteers for helping out on the day, as well as every other day,” said Michelle.
