Amanzimtoti SPCA clarifies its ties with FRPR

Tracey Girling of Amanzimtoti SPCA clarifies statements made by Freedom Ride Powerbreed Rescue referring to its ties to the local SPCA.

AFTER a recent article published in the Berea Mail, the Amanzimtoti SPCA moved to clarify facts about its links with Freedom Ride Powerbreed Rescue (FRPR).

“Amanzimtoti SPCA informs members of the public that the organisation is not linked to Freedom Ride Powerbreed Rescue as stated by Brett Farrell and Nicole Jack a week ago in a Berea Mail article,” said manager Tracey Girling.

“It is a separate NPO with its own constitution. The organisation utilised one block of 13 kennels at our society for their dogs, not 30 as was claimed. The organisation has since moved its dogs. Anyone requiring information on the FRPR organisation should contact them directly.”

Amanzimtoti SPCA can be reached on 031-904-2424/5 or visit their 1 Nyati Road premises in Athlone Park.
