Pitch in for Amanzimtoti beach clean-up this Saturday

By participating in the International Coastal Clean-Up, you can make a difference.

Saturday, 16 September is International Coastal Clean-Up Day and the community is invited to grab a bag and help clean up.

“Get to the beach, dunes, river, your neighbourhood, or anywhere to clean up litter, especially plastic,” said Amanzimtoti Conservancy chairman, Angus Pyke.

“Join a group at any of the venues or go at it alone. If you miss Saturday, do your part on Sunday.”

“Following our recent public challenge to get really ‘stuck’ into the community, the town has enjoyed an awesome response from organisations and individuals who all actually want to make a difference,” said ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge.

“There is no better time than the present and by participating in the International Coastal Clean-Up, you can make a difference.

Join millions of volunteers who love our ocean and want to protect it on Saturday, 16 September.

There is no need to belong to an organisation, group or association – just be yourself and come make new friends by joining us at any of the given locations. I dare you to make a difference.”

For more information on the clean-up day, call Angus on 074-9514267.
