Crime fighters close net on Amanzimtoti criminals

If you go anywhere, make sure you don’t go alone.

Amanzimtoti neighbours worked together to arrest a housebreaker in Eland Avenue on Saturday afternoon, 9 September.

“Neighbours noticed the man trying to break into a Wendy house on a property. They intervened and arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police. Nothing was reported stolen,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Matthios.

In a separate incident, Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) footpatrol guards collared two thugs on Saturday, 9 September who had robbed a man in Beach Road.

“One is 15-years-old, so as a juvenile he will only get a slap on the wrist. If you intend going anywhere, be it the beach, bird park and so on, make sure you don’t go alone,” warned CCPO committee member, George Snodey.

On the same day, ET Rapid Response South Coast reaction officer, Ashley Naidoo netted a housebreaker after he stole fishing rods from a premises in Queens Terrace.
