Nippers soak up the sun, sea and surf
Warnadoone and Winklespruit Lifesaving Clubs hosted their respective open days where many salty youngsters have become fully involved in the sand, sun and surf activities.
SPRING marks the start of new life and activities, which are valued by coast dwellers who are nippers.
Warnadoone and Winklespruit Lifesaving Clubs hosted their respective open days where many salty youngsters have become fully involved in the sand, sun and surf activities.
Warnadoone Lifesaving Club hosted its open day on Sunday, 27 August and Winkle Lifesaving Club the following Sunday on 3 September. Both clubs saw an impressive turnout of children interested in the sea, tagging along their possibly more passionate parents.
The keen youngsters aged between seven and 13 years of age got fully involved in all sea and beach events on the days.

The lifesaving clubs reminded them that nippers and lifesaving is solely about learning how to enjoy the beautiful ocean safely and having fun with friends, family and coaches. Lifesaving can be undertaken from age 14 and up, the goal being to learn the art of saving lives while enjoying the surf.
Living by the ocean in a town that eats, sleeps and breathes the salty air and enjoys near year-round pleasure on the beaches, it is vital to have knowledge of the ocean and its mystical ways.
It’s never too late to become sea-ready. If you’ve missed the open days and are still interested in seeing what it’s all about, make your way down to either Warnadoone or Winklespruit Lifesaving Clubs where both you and your child will be welcomed with open arms.
