Amanzimtoti beach clean-up postponed

The clean-up will take place on Saturday, 26 August at Umbogintwini Beach.

MISS Earth SA national finalist and Kingsway High matriculant Caroline Hartog’s beach clean-up has been postponed.
Surprised by the cleanliness of Amanzimtoti beach, where the clean-up was set to take place, Caroline has rescheduled the date and venue for the event.

“I arrived on Saturday morning for the clean-up at Amanzimtoti main beach and was absolutely amazed at how clean it was,” said Caroline.

For that reason, she has rescheduled the clean-up to Saturday, 26 August and changed the targeted area to Umbogintwini Beach, near the golf course. This area needs to be cleaned more than Amanzimtoti main beach. The clean-up will take place from 9am.

Skipgo Durban South has sponsored a skip where all collected litter can be dumped and taken away. Caroline added that the Amanzimtoti Main Beach law enforcement will be present on the day. Caroline reminds those interested that bags will be supplied, but plastic gloves should be brought along for hygiene purposes.
