Winkle BC marks 85th anniversary with bowls contest

There will be no meal this Friday evening due to the Winkle 85th anniversary competition being played.

ANDRE Gelderblom, Brian Farmer and Norma Raath were the overall winners for the monthly mixed trips played at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Sunday.

Second session was taken by Brian Pasfield and Bill and Linda Hobbs.

Ellie Cox was winner of the 100 board. John Scott and Lynn Fitzsimmons were the victors over Steve Evenwel and Stephanie Delport in the first leg of the mixed pairs. Mac and Joyce Mackrory beat Tony Fitzsimmons and Honey Behr in the first leg of the mixed 2-4-2. In the second leg of the senior men’s singles, Freddy Hetterscheidt beat Eddie Bingham.

There will be no meal this Friday evening due to the Winkle 85th anniversary competition being played. Brian Cox won the attendance draw on Friday evening. Due to him not being present, it will be a carry-over. There was no winner for the ‘wheel of fortune’.

Diarise the following dates: The Winkle 85th anniversary will be celebrated with a trips competition on Friday, 28 July. There will be a game of 18 ends in the morning and then another 18 ends in the afternoon, after lunch. Tea, coffee and muffins will be provided at tea time, lunch at lunch time and snacks after the game.

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons at 1.30pm for 2pm. Winkle BC wishes Cathy du Plooy and John Scott a happy birthday. May they have a blessed year ahead.
