WATCH: Remembering Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington

The suicide of Linkin Park's front man, Chester Bennington has come as a shock to fans worldwide.

The front man of popular rock band, Linkin Park, passed away yesterday, 20 July 2017 at the age of 41.

He was found dead in his home near Los Angeles. The 41-year-old committed suicide after allegedly struggling with a drug and alcohol addiction for years.

Chester was married with six children from two wives.

The American singer and songwriter who was known for his piercing scream and free-flowing anguish, released seven albums with Linkin Park. The most recent, ‘One More Light’ arrived in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. The band was scheduled to start a tour with a concert on July 27 in Mansfield, Mass.

In May, Bennington’s friend, Chris Cornell hanged himself and Bennington responded to the news of his death with a note he shared on social media.

“I can’t imagine a world without you in it,” he wrote. “I pray you find peace in the next life.”

Chester also performed Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at Chris’s funeral on May 26. Bennington killed himself on the date which would have been Chris’s 53rd birthday. Reports say that the suicides were nearly identical.
