The first event starts at 7.30am with riders having to ride two laps (16kms).

At 9am, the three lap event starts (24kms), followed by a fun e-bike and unicycle lap (8km) at 11.30am. The main three lap race (32kms) will start at 12.30pm.

A lot of time and effort has gone into getting the track ready and the club encourages riders of all levels of fitness to enter. There’s fun for the whole family with great prizes to win, the main prize being a Giant bike which was donated by the club’s main sponsor, Giant Toti. Food and coffee stalls will be open throughout the day. Online entries can be found on www.roag.co.za. Contact Barry Walker on 083-459-8253 for more details.

The club has road and mountain bike riders who meet regularly to enjoy great camaraderie while doing what they love the most – riding. Visit the Amanzimtoti Cycle Club Facebook page which has constant updates about their exciting outings.

Last weekend saw Absolute Motion Team teaming up with PSG to host one of the most picturesque mountain bike races in KZN. The race featured fun and challenging single-track across three distances of 10km, 20km and 40km.

The terrain was varied through the Hilton College forests, guaranteeing a fun ride for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities. The race was a perfect opportunity to explore exciting new trails. They introduced a brilliant new way of rewarding riders who may be fast in certain areas but just can’t get onto the podium. It was a great way to encourage riders but Brennan Anderson still managed to have an exceptional ride by achieving a podium finish. He came third in a time of 1.45.49.
