Local designer spreads colour of magic at VDJ

While her creations did not garner any official accolades, she was delighted with the results of her labour.

Local fashion designer, Madelain Clark showed off her magic at this year’s Vodacom Durban July.

The designer’s models were her son Jordan Clark and his girlfriend Kirstin Holpert.

While her creations did not garner any official accolades, she was delighted with the results of her labour.

“They were absolute superstars and definitely had all eyes on them,” she said. “Loads of publicity and a TV interview is a great accomplishment and what any designer can ask for”

Madelain runs her studio in Amanzimtoti, designing under her label, Madelain Clark Exclusive.

“I have attended this event for many years, and have more than 13 awards under my belt,” she said. “I do, however, feel that classic sophistication has been lost at this event, which is rather sad. The attention is now focused on the weird and those dressed in less.”
