Armed men rob Isipingo business owner

The robbers fled in the business owner’s white Golf 7R and in a red Golf believed to be the getaway car.

An Isipingo business owner and employees were held up by a gang of about four balaclava-clad armed men, who fled with an unconfirmed amount of cash at about 8.30am on Wednesday, 28 June.

The robbers fled in the business owner’s white Golf 7R and in a red Golf believed to be the getaway car.

The Golf 7R was recovered hours later by the Alpha Alarms armed response and tactical units after they received a tip-off of the possible location of the vehicle.

According to Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo, their control room received a call from an informant regarding the possible location of the stolen vehicle.

“The units were dispatched to T section in Umlazi where the vehicle was recovered. The inside of the vehicle had been stripped,” said Naidoo.
