Step out in support of Tafta’s family fun walk

The organisation invites participants of all ages to lace up their running shoes for a day of activity.

Durbanites can put their best foot forward for charity by donning their favourite pair of sneakers in support of the Association for the Aged’s (Tafta) annual family fun walk.

Centred on Tafta’s core value of inspiring active ageing, the organisation invites participants of all ages to lace up their running shoes for a day of activity and excitement on Saturday, July 15.

Each year the event draws hundreds of fitness enthusiasts and leisure walkers, whose participation makes a valuable difference in the lives of the elderly.

“Tafta’s annual fun walk is a community event and we encourage participants to bring along their family, friends and colleagues for a day of comradery, fun and exercise,” said Tafta CEO, Femada Shamam.

Participants can choose to walk the 2km route at a cost of R20 or the 5km route at R50.

The walk will commence at 8am from the amphitheatre at Durban’s beachfront along the promenade to uShaka Marine World and return to the amphitheatre.

All proceeds from the event will contribute towards supplementing the social grants of financially-strained pensioners and providing the elderly with much-needed care kits.

Pre-registration can be completed at www.roag.co.za and on-the-day registration begins at 7am sharp at the amphitheatre.
