BREAKING NEWS: Fatal shooting of shopkeeper rocks Doonside [PHOTOS]

He was shot dead by four gunmen as he opened the store for the day

A Doonside shopkeeper has been shot dead while opening his store in Main Road at about 6.45am this morning (Monday, 12 June).

While details are sketchy, it is believed four armed men stormed into the First Pride Mini Superette shop while the store owner was opening for the day. He was shot dead. It is not known whether anything was taken from the store.

Motorists are urged to avoid Main Road, as police are combing the scene for evidence.

The men were apparently seen fleeing the scene by passersby.
