New committee members appointed in ward 97

The next step in the process will be the identification and appointment of 10 members from within certain suburbs.

THE ward 97 committee’s inaugural meeting took place on Sunday, 7 May. Committee members in attendance were assigned their portfolios. These included: secretary; sport, arts, culture and recreation; transport, roads and stormwater; health, safety and security; human settlements; cleansing and solid waste; skills development and job creation; entrepreneurship and small business support.

“The next process will be the identification and appointment of 10 members from within certain suburbs in the community to each portfolio (10 x 10 = 100) to assist and advise the ward committee members on input to the monthly meetings,” said ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge. If you have a particular interest or passion in one of these spheres, consider stepping up to serve your ward in this role.

“Training will be supplied and meetings scheduled in accordance with the council agenda. This is an effort to strengthen the relationship between the municipality and its residents.”
