Amanzimtoti school burglar netted despite attack with hockey stick

Senior reaction member, Louis van Rooyen suspected the burglar might still be inside.

A burglar was nabbed by an armed response officer at Kuswag Skool on Sunday, 9 April.

ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker said their guard heard glass breaking at the school at about 8pm.

“He requested assistance from our armed response. Two of our vehicles responded, while the guard secured the perimeter,” said Lokker.

The burglar was subdued after a struggle with ET senior reaction member, Louis van Rooyen.

 

Senior reaction member, Louis van Rooyen suspected the burglar might still be inside and requested the key holder to open up for an internal check.

He was apprehended a short while later inside the premises. “He was subdued after a brief struggle where he attacked Louis with a hockey stick. He was detained and charged at Toti SAPS. Well done boys,” said Lokker.
