Think of Hospice when cleaning your clutter

Khanya Hospice's three shops are desperately in need of your donation.

Amanzimtoti residents are reminded to support the Khanya Hospice charity shop in Kingsway.

“Customers, family and friends are made very welcome and at home at the Toti shop in Southway Mall,” said Khanya CEO, Neil McDonald.

Are you moving house or home, relocating or Spring cleaning? Hospice’s three shops are desperately in need of your donation of clothes, bric-a-brac, cutlery, crockery, linen, furniture, garden tools, garden furniture and equipment, sport and gym equipment or whatever you have to give away.

“Hospice does not receive any government subsidy and these articles are cleaned, washed, priced and put up for sale,” said Neil. “The income generated funds the free nursing care that Hospice offers.

Our nursing staff go into rural areas and often have to walk two to three kilometres, as there are no roads that lead to the house of the patient. Sometimes they have to cross rivers or valleys to get to a patient.

We need to maintain our vehicles, as we cannot let our nursing staff get stuck on the roads.

Think of Hospice if and when you clean and clear your cupboards or move house and home. We are able to collect if you cannot drop off.”

Hospice is a non-profit organisation that offers free palliative nursing care to people with life-threatening diseases and offers support to their families who request it.

People who need the services of Hospice, who would like to become a Hospice volunteer, or anyone who wants to donate goods to the shops can call 083-597-8985 or 031-903-3408 or email hospice@scottnet.co.za.
