Balloons carry school’s 35th anniversary wishes aloft

The school continues to thrive and shine above the rest.

This year marks a milestone achievement for Kamalinee Primary School as it completes 35 years of existence.

Established in 1981 and opening its doors to the first set of eager pupils in 1982, Kamalinee Primary School is situated in Lotus Park.

True to its name, like the lotus flower, the school continues to thrive and shine above the rest despite the challenges it faces.

To commemorate its coral anniversary, all stakeholders of the school came together on Thursday, 20 October to launch the 35th anniversary celebrations in style.

The morning started with all pupils gathered to sing the national anthem while the South African flag was raised.

A special assembly was held to highlight the achievements of the school, followed by cutting a special anniversary cake.

All pupils then assembled on the sports grounds to form the shape of the number ’35’ where an aerial photo was taken by a drone.

Pink and blue helium balloons were released with special messages attached to wish the school well on its 35th birthday.

“Kamalinee Primary School boasts a pleasant environment for pupils and teachers alike and is committed to service delivery in the education sector, community development and holistic development of all pupils,” said ex-pupil of the school and convenor of the anniversary, Minesha Singh.

“I am proud to be associated with the school.”

It was an enjoyable and fun-filled day for all stakeholders.

The school’s 35th anniversary reunion takes place on Friday, 18 November at Amanzimtoti Civic Centre at 6pm. All ex-pupils and associates of the school are urged to contact the school on 031-902-4534 for more details.
