Tablers tee off for young cancer patient fundraiser

Ben Hawkes is a 10-year-old cancer patient.

Amanzimtoti Round Table 85 invites the public to tee-off at its Golf For Ben fundraiser at Umdoni Park Golf Club on Sunday, 6 November.

Ben Hawkes is a 10-year-old cancer patient,” said Amanzimtoti Round Table president, Vincent Tutt. “He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) two days before his birthday on 25 February.

Ben has and will spend many days in hospital, having chemo treatments and operations to remove the affected bones. These treatments and procedures come at extremely high costs which has placed his family under immense financial stress.

We will host a golf day to assist in raising much-needed funds through the sponsorship of holes and entrance fees.The funds raised at the golf day will go towards paying for his cancer treatment. Please support this worthy cause.”

The format is a fourball alliance with two scores to count and a shotgun start teeing off the day at 11.30am.

The day will feature team prizes, longest drive, closest to the pin and much more.

Entry fee is R225 per person, which includes your green fees, prizegiving and dinner. It excludes the halfway house, carts and caddies.

Advertise your business and show your support by sponsoring a hole at a cost of R1,000, or sponsor some prizes.
