Winklespruit 2-4-2 to be contested this Saturday

THE Winklespruit Bowling Club mixed nominated pairs was played on Friday with Steve Evenwel and Maureen Griffin being the victors over Eddie Bingham and Trish Farmer.

In the women’s twinkle trips played on Wednesday, 7 September, overall winners were Lou Lou Bingham, Trish Farmer and Mac Mackrory. Second session was taken by Marie Van Der Walt, Annatie Boag and Wilma Richter. The 100 board winner was Cathy Du Plooy and Marie Van Der Walt won the spider.

Overall winners for the monthly men’s trips played on Thursday were Ian Crouch, Duncan Wright and Phil Perkins. Second session was won by Rob Troughton, Neville Roscoe and Cedric Kruger. Guelfo Cobianchi won the 100 board.

Friday evening’s meal was enjoyed by all in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you to all who prepared and assisted with the serving of the meal.

Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoon, with the starting time of 1.45pm for 2pm. An evening meal will be available once again this Friday. Chicken pasta and pudding is on the menu for this week. For catering reasons, indicate if you will be partaking in the meal, before Friday on the list on the board or call Trish on 082-483-5875.

The Saturday Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 will be played on Saturday, 17 September at Winkle BC. Starting time is 8.30am for 9am. Indicate on the list on the notice board if you will be playing. Take note the monthly men’s 2-4-2 will be played on Thursday, 22 September.

Members are to complete their club competitions as soon as possible, due to prize-giving being in a few weeks’ time.

Congratulations to everyone celebrating birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all who are not well. The club’s prayers and thoughts are with everyone, and especially to Piet Barnard who is not well.
