Dig deep for Bobbi Bear fundraiser

We have no guaranteed funding and we need all the help we can get

THE Toti public is urged to dig deep into their pockets and support the Operation Bobbi Bear R5 and black bag challenge at Toti Mall on Saturday, 30 July.

“We have about 40 exciting stalls of local crafts so people can browse through a fleamarket,” said organiser, Joanne Mocke Herbst.

“Someone donated us a skip for the day and we ask the public to fill a black bag with non-perishable food and clothes and throw it in the skip for our black bag challenge.

We hope to fill a 100m strip with R5 coins. We already have 30 metres pledged, but rock up with your R5 coins and place them on the strip, or call me on 079-028-6379 to make your pledge at R300 per metre.”

A donation box will be on hand for the public to donate paper money and help the organisation with much-needed funds.

People have this misconception that Bobbi Bear is a rich organisation with overseas funding. Nothing can be further from the truth

The day starts at 8am and ends at 4pm in the area between the mall and Sweetwaters flats. There will be a DJ and MC to provide a great vibe.

“We also have ‘decorate your own cupcake’ for the children. It promises to be a great day out for the whole family and we hope to see you all. Come down to meet the Bobbi Bear team and Eureka Olivier and come see for yourself what Bobbi Bear is all about. We have managed to squeeze in a few more stalls so if you want to come sell your wares for free, call me. Thanks to all those who have already made pledges,” said Joanne.

“Bobbi Bear thanks Joanne for all the hard work she has single-handedly done to help us,” said Bobbi Bear’s Eureka Olivier. “People have this misconception that Bobbi Bear is a rich organisation with overseas funding. Nothing can be further from the truth. That is why we are fundraising like this. We desperately need money to continue to run and help abused children from as far as Stanger to Pietrermaritzburg.

We have no guaranteed funding and we need all the help we can get.”
