New name, vision for trauma unit

All items on the agenda were approved

AMANZIMTOTI Trauma Unit will in future be known as Turning Point – Amanzimtoti, after the decision was among several made at its AGM last week.

All items on the agenda were approved, including the appointment of Shavera Ishwarlall-Sayed as chairman, as well as the re-appointment of Derrick Minya as vice-chairman and Jenny Arnold as treasurer.

The following changes were accepted at the AGM:

  • New name: The ATU will be known as Turning Point – Amanzimtoti.
  • New vision: To see a community free from crime and abuse.
  • New mission: To provide care and support to victims of trauma and abuse. To facilitate restoration by empowering individuals, families and the community by transformation.
