Inkwali hip hop muso on the rise

Napha Napha can be heard and downloaded on Bayanda's Soundcloud page

A LOCAL hip hop producer is riding a wave of acclaim following the success of his first single.

Bayanda Mzimela, AKA Tyraqeed Kid, of Inkwali released his single ‘Napha Napha’, which means to scatter, in May and already the song is playlisted on Yarona FM, one of the radio stations with the largest followings in Botswana.

“I was interviewed for the radio station and from next week I will tour Botswana and Ghana to promote Napha Napha,” said a chuffed Bayanda.

The 21-year-old muso started producing in 2010 and his single was self-written and produced, and features LMass (Lyrical Mass).

His brother Mbongeleni is a hip hop artist and promoter who has inspired him through the years.

In August Bayanda will film a music video for Napha Napha.

“I’m feeling very grateful and I thank God because it seems like 2016 could be my year for success through music,” said Bayanda.

“I can’t express how it feels to be touring Africa to promote my single. I’m meeting new people everyday and building my fan base daily. It’s an unreal feeling.

I will be home to celebrate my birthday with my friends and family in Durban on 24 July and hopefully I will have lots of stories to tell them about my travels through Africa.”

Napha Napha can be heard and downloaded on Bayanda’s Soundcloud page ‘Tyraqeed Kid’, where downloads are about to reach 20,000. Alternatively link up with him on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @Tyraqeed. To book him, call his manager on 073-113-0006
